Norwood's Bill

To assure that we had a bill available for discussion and to build on during the early 2012 legislative session.   The Agents' section has been discussing this at some length.  Here are the drafts under discussion:

Designation Rule

The DFS is again looking at the use of designations as a matter of public protection. It seems that many individuals and entities in other lines of insurance are holding themselves out to have expertise where there is none. The CLC/CLS designations granted by the FLTA would fall under the purview of this examination. 

The FLTA has requested and been granted a Hearing to clarify the use of designations and our concerns that the use of our hard earned designations be inadvertently eliminated due to a matter of concern that exists elsewhere. The Hearing will be held in Tallahassee on July 26th.   FLTA attended the hearing in force and submitted written comments, which can be found HERE.
