    Hello,

In case you missed it, Entrust Solutions posted a warning on their website alerting title agents not to open fraudulent emails which appear to be from title underwriters asking for wiring instructions but which contain malware:

    http://goentrust.com/category/entrust-solutions-news/

    Entrusts' agent alert states:

"Recently, a rash of emails that appear to be sent from underwriters directly to the agents, are asking them to “CONFIRM YOUR WIRE INSTRUCTIONS WITH US.”  The email message asks for your wiring instructions to be sent to an email address from the underwriter.

This is a fraudulent email and may contain executable files if you click on the link attachment in the email.  Some of the attachments in the emails are labeled as WireReport.exe, however it is a Trojan horse malware program.

The emails should be deleted and do not click on any attachments.  If you have received an email similar to this and have questions, please contact your underwriter directly."

This was also reported in the 1-28-2013 issue of The Title Report.
