Len Prescott is Vice President, Florida State and Regional Counsel and Regional Underwriting Director for First American Title Insurance Company.  With an extensive background in securities, insurance, and real estate, Len uses his first-hand experience and broad industry perspective to oversee the Company’s Florida State and Regional Underwriting Departments.  Aside from his leadership and management responsibilities, Len is a very active transactional underwriter and has underwritten many of the most complex and largest title transactions in Florida.  Along with crafting solutions to the most challenging underwriting issues, Len develops and presents educational programs for agents and production staff throughout the state.  He frequently represents the interests of First American and its agents before the Office of Insurance Regulation, the Florida Department of Financial Services, and the Florida Legislature.  Len has been a contributing author for many changes to Florida statutes of importance to the title industry including the treatment of Construction Liens, Estoppels, Property Information Reports, MRTA, Lis Pendens and Homestead.  Prior to being promoted to Regional Underwriting Director, Len joined the Company as Florida State Counsel and previously served as Underwriting Counsel in Miami for several of the largest national title insurance underwriters. He is regularly featured as a national speaker for the American Land Title Association (ALTA) and other state and regional title associations.  He has served multiple past terms and is a current member of the Board of Directors and President of the Florida Land Title Association (FLTA), and is an active Member and Sponsor for the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section (RPPTL) of the Florida Bar, currently serving as a Vice-Chair of RPPTL’s Title Insurance Committee.  He is an active member of the Florida and Maryland Bar Associations.  Len graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire, is a member of the Academic Honor Society Phi Beta Kappa and received his Law Degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Marty Solomon has litigated for title insurers around the country for the past 20 years, first with Carlton Fields and now with Awerbach | Cohn.  He is a past chair of the FLTA Defense Roundtable committee, and first attended the Roundtable 17 years ago, with founding member Mark Brown.  He typically handles title curative litigation, coverage litigation, bad faith defense, defalcations, and closing protection letter claims.  He is an Executive Council member of the Florida Bar’s Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section (RPPTL).  He has also been active with the Title Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS).  He earned a B.A. in political science and sociology from New College of USF in Sarasota, and a J.D. from Tulane.  He enjoys bicycling, photography, and sailing.

Sabine is State Counsel for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company in its Maitland office.  She has been with Westcor since 2005 and is in charge of the Florida underwriting department as well as assisting with commercial underwriting.  She also teaches at Westcor’s annual seminars and various agent events.  Sabine is originally from Germany and grew up in a military family.  She received her undergraduate degree in legal studies from the University of Central Florida and her J.D. from the University of Memphis.  Sabine was briefly in private practice but starting in 1999 at American Pioneer Title Insurance Company, her career has been in title insurance underwriting and claims.  Sabine is a member of the Real Property Probate and Trust section of the Florida Bar and serves on the Title Issues and Standards, Commercial Real Estate and Title Insurance and Liaison Committees, as well as being a member of CREW Orlando.  When not working Sabine loves spending time at the beach or the barn with her husband Joel and 9 year old daughter Hailey.

Charles (Chuck) L. Ferguson is a Senior Commercial Examiner for the Fidelity National Title Florida Agency Operations. He is responsible for not only providing Commitments and other reports for the various customers served by the Company, but also in helping answer questions in trying to get them to closing. Being a transplant from the cold tundra of Northeast Ohio, he has been in the industry for more than 30 years and has been licensed in the state for over 25. He holds the designation of Certified Land-Title Searcher (CLS) since 1993. Charles is also the current chair for the Education Committee with the Florida Land Title Association.

John Sthreshley is Vice President for First International Title, Inc. based in Coral Springs, FL. and has been with the company since its inception in 2009. A Bradenton, Fla. resident, Sthreshley has more than 30 years of proven management, personnel training, sales and strategic territory development in the highly competitive financial solutions industry.  He is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College at Staunton, VA with a bachelor’s degree in business.  Currently serves as chair to the Cyber Fraud Committee with the Florida Land Title Association (FLTA).   John and his wife, Valerie, reside in Bradenton, they have four children and two grandchildren.

Shelley Stewart, CLC, is President/CEO of Southern Title Holding Company, LLC a leading independent title insurance agency in the
State of Florida. She returns to the Board of Directors after serving as Agent’s Section Chair in 2006-2007 and President in 2008, in addition to chairing numerous committees including Government Affairs.  She is currently Chair of the Data Call Committee and serves on the Forms Committee and the Ad-Hoc Committees on remote online notarization and estoppel legislation. Shelley forged relationships with the state’s regulators and provided valuable insight when she was appointed by the Governor to the 2008 Title Insurance Industry Study Council.  In addition, she worked tirelessly to educate legislators and regulators alike various topics impacting the title industry throughout the state.  Shelley has been instrumental in assisting with the development, and testifying regarding the consequences, of key legislation that has impacted title insurance agents across the state, including estoppel, data call, licensing requirements and many others.  Shelley earned the prestigious Raymond O. Denham Service Award in 2014, was twice named a Top Woman in Title by First American Title and has earned numerous other industry related honors.  In addition to her role as President and CEO of Southern Title, she serves as Data Call Committee Chair, Forms Committee Agent Representative and Past President’s Council.  She is a current member of the ALTA’s Best Practices Task Force, Digital Closing Task Force Committee, as well as the ALTA NAIC Liaison Committee.  She was one of the first 10 ALTA members nationally named as a National Title Professional “NTP” in 2014.  She also has been very active with the Florida Home Builders Association, serving as FHBA State - 2nd VP in 2019.  She is a member of FHBA PAC Committee, Governmental Affairs Committee, $1k Club Committee and the State Board of Directors.  She was awarded the FHBA Dick Baker Award in 2019.  She was named “Woman of the Year” by the Volusia – Flagler County Association of Woman Lawyers 2016.  She is a member of the PRIA Public Records Redaction Committee.  Senator Kathleen Passidomo recently requested that Shelley serve as the Chair of the State Public Records Redaction Sub-Group, as well as serving on State Public Records Redaction Task Force Committee.

Nancy’s esteemed career as a title insurance professional began in the 1980s when she worked for Florida Title.  After developing her skills and expertise there, she began her own very successful Sun Title Insurance Agency, Inc. in St. Petersburg in 1996, which was acquired by the law firm of Berlin Patten Ebling in July of 2020.  Today, Nancy serves as a Business Development Coordinator for that firm.  Her role as a title insurance leader expanded in 2019 when she was elected to the office of President of the Florida Land Title Association for 2020.  In that position, and in other leadership roles in the Association, Nancy has worked with elected and appointed state and local officials on behalf of the title insurance industry and Florida consumers concerning all aspects of title insurance business and regulation.  Nancy’s husband, Phil Baumann, a probate attorney, is also a leader in his industry.  Through him, Nancy has come to know and work with the very best real estate attorneys in the state of Florida and has often called upon those expert real estate lawyers in her leadership roles on behalf of the title insurance industry.  Nancy and Phil, both licensed pilots, have for years been flying their plane to professional association meetings throughout the country.  Nancy supports the MacDonald Training Center, Inc., in its mission to assist persons with disabilities to live the lives that they choose, and the Judeo-Christian Health Clinic, Inc., a free medical clinic for the uninsured working poor staffed by all-volunteer medical professionals.  Nancy is also a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the Kiwanis Club of St. Petersburg and the Pinellas Realtors Organization (PRO).

Lindsay R. Hall Harrison is Florida Underwriting Counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. Lindsay has practiced as a litigation attorney representing lenders and servicers, Managing Partner of a boutique real estate law firm and title company, and prior to becoming a title underwriter held the position of Associate General Counsel of a national mortgage lender. Lindsay joined the FLTA Board of Directors in 2018 and served as Chair of the Education Committee in 2019/20. Lindsay is a very active member of the ALTA Real Property Records and Talent Committees and is also member of PRIA. Lindsay is a past board member and committee chair of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and past board member of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the Women’s Counsel of Realtors Central Florida Chapter, and A Gift for Music. Lindsay currently serves as the Chair of the City of Maitland’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Lindsay was named as a past Nominee of the Orlando Business Journal’s "Women Who Mean Business" and was also bestowed with the Florida Association for Women Lawyer’s Class of 2015 Leaders in the Law award. Lindsay and her husband Andrew live in Maitland with their young daughter and enjoy scuba diving, kayaking, and traveling.

Mike LaRosa is the COO for the Florida Agency Network (FAN), a conglomerate of independent title agencies, settlement service providers, and innovative technology companies within the State of Florida. Mike is based in the Tampa Bay marketplace. He received his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida in 1995, in addition to his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida, College of Law in 1998. A 20-year title insurance veteran, he began his career with First American Title straight out of law school as Associate Counsel at the company’s divisional headquarters in Tallahassee. Over the years he was exposed to various aspects of the business, and eventually relocated to Tampa to help manage the Partnership Division, tasked with the creation and management of Affiliated Business Arrangement title agency partnerships. In 2007 he transitioned over to the Agency Division, running Agency sales and production for the Tampa Bay Area, ultimately growing into the role of Florida State Agency Manager, and then five years ago he took on his current role with FAN. Mike regularly lectures on title-related topics, with a specific focus on RESPA and compliance matters. When he’s not speaking on an industry topic or involved with multiple industry associations, Mike likes to spend time outdoors with his family or traveling, and he is a healthy lifestyle/fitness enthusiast.

Jeff Hall is Division President of Florida Title & Guarantee Agency based in Sunrise, Florida and has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial services and title industry.  Jeff began his title career with a leading foreclosure law firm in Michigan, Trott & Trott, P.C., working directly with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on loss mitigation pilot programs as well as alternative post sale options such as the “Cash for Redemption” program to limit GSE holding time and costs.  After moving to Florida, Mr. Hall worked for Coldwell Banker NRT overseeing many aspects of their title vendor management and streamlining the vendor selection process and oversight programs for multiple clients.  Later, he moved on to work directly for Fannie Mae in their National Property Disposition Center after their expansion of the South Florida regional office first as an Asset Analyst and then as an Assistant Vice President and Asset Manager.  Jeff then served as the Chief Operating Officer for a large scale creditor’s rights and real estate closing law firm who acted as designated counsel for FNMA and FHLMC before joining FTGA to oversee all title and closing operations in 40+ regional and branch offices throughout Florida.

Tim Steele is a Past President of FLTA. Currently, he oversees several divisions throughout Florida of Lennar Title Company.  He is responsible for all management and operational aspects of the six Lennar Title branches, ranging from Jacksonville to Tampa to Fort Myers.  He joined Lennar Title after practicing law as a real estate attorney, and as an assistant county attorney for Pasco County, Florida.  He has extensive experience in drafting state statutes and local ordinances, representing governmental bodies and real estate law.  Tim graduated from Stetson College of Law in St. Petersburg, and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in wildlife biology from Arizona State University.

Mickey Godat was born in St. Louis, MO.  He graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts in History and obtained his law degree from St. Louis University School of Law.  Mickey began his title career as in-house counsel for a large title agency in St. Louis, MO.  From there he traveled back down the Mississippi River to New Orleans where, in 1996 he was hired by Lawyers Title.  For the next 14 years, through industry consolidations with LandAmerica and Fidelity, he held various positions throughout the Southeast; including underwriting counsel in Louisiana and Florida and managed a major commercial transactions division in Central Florida.  In 2010, he moved to Title Resources Guaranty Company.  He is currently a Vice President and Underwriting Counsel for the East Region.  He manages underwriting and regulatory issues from Florida to Louisiana up to Maine.

Karla J. Staker is a Vice President and Senior State Underwriting Counsel with the Fidelity National Financial family of companies in Maitland, Florida. She received a J.D. and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Florida.  Karla also holds bachelor degrees in accounting and business administration from Florida Southern College. Except for a brief stint in private practice, Karla has been an underwriter with Fidelity National’s group of underwriters since 1986. Joe Tschida is a Vice President and the Florida State Counsel for WFG National Title Insurance Company.  Joe has 26 years of experience in the title industry and has a wide range of underwriting experience from residential transactions to complex commercial transactions.  Joe provides underwriting support, guidance and education for WFG’s Florida agents.  Joe is a member of the Florida Bar, and is on the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.  Joe was a co-author of an Article titled “Navigating A Foreclosure Title Commitment” published in the Summer 2018 Edition of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section’s ActionLine Magazine; and Joe was the author of an Article titled “Waiver Of The Spousal Devise Restriction Under New Fla.Stat. § 732.7025” published in the 2019 Spring Edition of ActionLine Magazine.  Joe is also an active member of the Florida Land Title Association.  Joe is based out of WFG’s Regional Office in Lake Mary, Florida.
