Certified Land Title Institute

Welcome to the Certified Land Title Institute.

We all know that the title industry plays a vital role in ensuring trust, security, and integrity of every real estate transaction we search and close. But what sets apart a good title professional from a truly great one? It’s not just experience or years of service to our industry, it’s commitment. A commitment to learning, to ethics, and to excellence.
That is what the Certified Land Title Institute represents. Through our Certified Land-Title Searcher (CLS) and Certified Land-Title Closer (CLC) designations, we recognize professionals who go the extra mile. Those who dedicate themselves to mastering their craft, upholding the highest ethical standards, and serving as examples of integrity within our industry.

If this is YOU, we challenge you to put your knowledge to work, and apply to take the test for the Certified Land Title Closer or Certified Land Title Searcher.

And this year, the CLT institute is proud to announce that we are rolling out the brand-new Commercial Searcher and Commercial Closer designations available for testing in June. These two designations are designed specifically to recognize the specialized knowledge, skills, and expertise required in the complex world of commercial title work. These new and exciting additions reinforce the Certified Land Title Institute’s mission to promote continuous growth, integrity, and pride in the title industry.  The Commercial designation is offered to those who already hold the designation of CLC or CLS.  It is an opportunity for you to set yourself apart from the pack, and show the industry that you have gained the experience, gone the extra mile, and put in the time that it takes to become a leader in your field.  See the information below for details.
