ALREADY REGISTERED WITH THE DFS?
If you are registered with DFS as a "designated employee" and you are not currently a member of the SAP Committee and you would like to join, please send me an email so we can add you to the list of committee members for this forum.
The advantage to joining the SAP committee: you will receive new caveats by email concerning suspicious acts and persons. When you have this knowledge, it will help your underwriter prevent fraud claims by issuing alerts to your agents.
WANT TO REVIEW THE SAP COMMITTEE BLOG?
When we email caveats we post a notice on the blog with general information. We would love everyone to use the blog. Please feel free to post comments. To get into the SAP Blog on the FLTA website, please do the following:
1. Go to the FLTA website
2. Log in using your User Name and Password
3. On the left side, go to Invisible Page and hover over it and then travel down to Committee Working Area
4. Hover over Committee Working Area and then travel down to SAP Forum
5. Click on SAP Forum
Here's an example of a recent blog post:
Peggy Williams, Risk Manager at Attorney's Title Fund Services, LLC, notified us regarding several recently recorded suspected forged deeds in Palm Beach, Broward, Seminole and Orange Counties, all to a trust that appears to be headquartered in the UK. The trust has already conveyed out to third parties in 3 transactions, 2 of which appear to have been insured by Florida underwriters. All underwriters should be on their guard for any future transactions from the trust.
I emailed a caveat, today, to the designated employees on the SAP committee email list. Please review the caveat and, if you deem it appropriate, please warn your agents to be careful about insuring transactions involving this trust.
Please email me at ghall@stewart.com if you did not receive the email, have any questions or need additional information.
Please keep in mind that we are not identifying suspicious persons in this online forum in order to preserve the underwriters' statutory immunity from liability for sharing information.
Regards,
Greg
