Has anyone else had a major lender sending them closing affidavits to review and approve? Or asked to specifically use an affidavit for that lender instead of your approved underwriting affidavits? (example – survey affidavit)
I have been asked by a major lender to review several closing affidavits. I believe they would need to do this with the major Underwriters; because the underwriters are the ones insuring the deal and are on the hook for any claims. These closing affidavits are used to clear exceptions on polices that are backed by these underwriters and could leave them open to claims.
